Spring Day 2014 – A Huge Success
Once a year, on the first day of Spring, It’s a Go! holds a special event in the name of charity. A spectacularly South African time is had amidst braai-meat, music, smiles and a load of activities for the whole family.
In participation with all our generous and lovely sponsors, and the Bryanston Scouts hall, all funds raised went towards Bethany House, a home for abused women and children.
The day kicked off with a 19.5km Spruit Cycle, starting at the It’s a Go! offices in Bryanston, trailing the Braamfontein Spruit all the way to Delta Park and back. The trail, peppered with jump challenges, river crossings and underpasses saw a great turnout of riders of all ages and walks of life.
Children enjoyed an amazing adventure trail around the park and Spruit. Armed with maps and under close supervision of Scout masters, participants braaied sausages, visited stables, used a loom to make their own bangles, and indulged hugely in loads of other activities.
Aside from this, we raffled a bicycle, held a cake-naming competition and nibbled on fresh candy-floss and pop-corn made by the It’s a Go! staff and volunteers.
A truly sensational day was had by all.
